Priced per seat. Published, not quote-gated.

Every plan is the complete practice system with your practice area included, chosen per seat — the ladder is AI. 30-day trial on any plan, no credit card required; a firm that hasn’t picked one by day 30 continues on the free Starter plan. During the trial and on Starter, managed AI is $3 a month for the whole firm; each plan’s per-user AI allowance starts when the firm subscribes, and any firm can bring its own AI key.

Starter · free

Start on Starter today, at no cost and with no card: one attorney, up to 15 active matters (30 opened in any twelve months), basic invoicing and a time-entry timer, the client portal in English and Spanish (client logins are free), OneDrive document sync, the Word and Outlook add-ins, and $3 a month of managed AI for the whole firm, or your own AI key. Or take the full-access 30-day trial first — a firm that hasn’t picked a plan by then continues on Starter. Move up to any plan above when the firm grows.

Practice areas

Every seat includes one practice area — the lawyer’s own, so a specialist never pays for law they don’t practice. Another practice area on a seat is $20 per user per month, added by the firm admin under Settings → Billing. Civil litigation — with business litigation and employment — is included in every plan. Areas marked Edition are practice-area editions: add-ons priced per user, enabled by the firm admin.

Prices in USD, per user, billed monthly; clients you invite to the client portal are never billed as users. Trust ledgers are available on all plans. Trust reconciliation and IOTA trust-accounting features are available on Gold and higher plans. Cancel anytime. AI features produce drafts for attorney review — Trial Commander is software, not legal advice.

Every plan, Starter included, can connect the firm’s own Claude or ChatGPT read-only; the working connector comes with Gold and above. The Android app and the Word add-in come with every plan.

Frequently asked questions

How does per-seat billing work?
Each active user is one seat at your plan's price, and each seat carries its own practice area. Add a user, the bill goes up by one seat; disable a user, it goes down. Clients you invite to the client portal never use a seat and are never billed.
What's the difference between the four plans, in one sentence each?
Bronze is the complete practice system with bring-your-own-key AI. Silver turns on managed AI and the full Drafting Studio, and adds Chronicle time capture from your calendar and the firm intranet. Gold adds the full working connector for your own Claude or ChatGPT (every plan includes a read-only one), plus trust reconciliation and IOTA trust-accounting features and QuickBooks Online sync. Platinum maxes the AI allowance and includes the Ledger.
Which plan do folders, saved views, search, tasks, reports and e-signature need?
None in particular — they are in every plan, including Bronze, and in the 30-day trial. The ladder between the four plans is AI, trust reconciliation and the integrations, not the practice system itself. Consultation booking, the Reports centre, the notification centre and the guided first week are the same: on for every firm, with the parts that touch money or the firm's calendar limited to the people the firm's administrator says.
Can I really run the $49 plan with my own AI?
Yes — that's the point of Bronze. Connect your firm's own Anthropic API key in Settings and every built-in AI feature bills straight to your Anthropic account under your own agreement and spend controls. No key connected, no AI — the practice system works fully without it.
What is a practice-area edition?
First-Party Property Insurance (+$30 per user per month) and Workers' Compensation (+$30 per user per month) are practice-area editions: they sit on top of the plan and are enabled by the firm admin rather than bought at checkout. Each turns on the Florida statutory clocks for that practice — the ch. 627 notice, carrier-duty and presuit dates, the ch. 440 limitations ladder and pay-and-investigate window — computed per matter.
What happens when a managed AI allowance runs out?
Managed AI features pause until the allowance resets the next month. Nothing else stops. Firms that need more can purchase an AI Boost, upgrade a tier, or connect their own API key — bring-your-own-key usage is never capped by us.
Is trust accounting available on all plans?
Trust ledgers are available on all plans. Trust reconciliation and IOTA trust-accounting features are available on Gold and higher plans. Every plan records trust deposits and disbursements to per-client ledgers; three-way reconciliation, the monthly trial balance, the annual reconciliation and IOTA enrollment records come with Gold and higher.
What happens if I cancel?
Your firm's data is kept for at least 30 days after cancellation so you can export it, including your trust-account records: an administrator downloads the firm's records export and its uploaded documents, each matter's and the firm's other files, from Settings, Billing. Trial Commander then deletes its copies, never sooner than 30 days after cancellation (backup copies age out on the schedule in our Privacy Policy). Your firm remains responsible for keeping the records the law requires it to keep, including trust records for the six years Rule 5-1.2(f) requires, so keep what you download.
Do I have to turn on all eighteen practice areas?
No. A firm chooses the practice areas it wants to see when it signs up, and a firm administrator changes that list any time under Settings, Display. It narrows what is shown, never what the firm may do: every area stays one click away, and opening a matter in a new area brings that area back on its own.
Will it stop me emailing the wrong person?
It warns you. As a message is sent from Outlook, Trial Commander looks at the recipients and the attachments: if an outside recipient is not a contact on the matter the others are on, or an attachment is a document the matter keeps as privileged, it says so before the email goes. It is a warning with Send anyway one click away, never a block, and it says nothing when nobody on the email is on a matter. It needs Outlook with Mailbox 1.12 or later.
Do you have a HIPAA BAA?
Not yet, on any plan. A BAA depends on matching agreements with each service provider that would handle protected health information, and three of those are not yet signed. The Sub-processors page lists the status of each; the HIPAA Addendum was withdrawn on 2026-09-16 until a BAA can be executed.
