Built by a Florida litigator for Florida litigators

Trial Commander started as a tool to run my own practice. As a Florida business litigation and family law attorney, I spent years gluing together Clio for billing, Excel for trust reconciliation, Word templates for motions, legal pads for trial prep, and color-coded Post-its for deadlines. Every tool was built for someone else's workflow. None of them understood Florida Bar Rule 5-1.1.

So I built what I needed: a single system that centralizes case theory, witness lists, exhibits, depositions, discovery, timeline, motions, jury instructions, trial notebooks, client trust accounting, billing, and AI-assisted drafting — with Florida Bar compliance engineered in from the first line of code.

The goal isn't to compete with Clio. It's to replace the pile-of-specialized-tools that Florida litigators actually use, with something that knows the difference between a Fla. R. Civ. P. 1.140 motion and a Rule 1.510 motion, between Rule 4-1.5(f)(4)(B) contingent schedule I and schedule II, and between firm-level operating funds and client sub-ledger balances.

Who it's for

Solo and small-firm Florida litigators who try cases. Business litigation, personal injury, family law, and medical malpractice firms who want their practice tools to actually understand their practice. Not a fit for transactional-only shops, multi-state mega-firms, or firms primarily doing document review.

Florida first

Every feature is designed from the FL Bar Rules outward. Trust accounting enforces Rule 5-1.1(e) overdraft prevention at the database level. Fee calculators match Rule 4-1.5(f)(4)(B) contingent fee schedules to the cent. AI output is framed as nonlawyer assistance under Rule 4-5.3 with mandatory attorney review flags.

Principles

• Compliance is a product feature, not a checkbox. Rule-aware defaults prevent violations before they happen.
• Your client data is yours. AI that never trains on your data, with strictly limited retention. Field-level encryption. Per-firm backups. Export everything on demand.
• Litigators deserve litigator tools. Centralize everything a trial lawyer needs in one system.
• Trust but verify. Tamper-evident audit log for every sensitive action. If a Bar investigator asks what happened, you have receipts.
